Berliner dives headfirst into the American name pool in search of the treasure and dangers hidden inside the words “Alan Berliner.” The filmmaker invites all the Alan Berliners in the world (including Alain Berliner, director of MA VIE EN ROSE) to his home for dinner – with hilarious results. What starts as a search for an identity turns into a meditation on mortality. This film has Berliner’s inimitable filmmaking signature written all over it.
